…About Our Escape Adventure
What is GOLD RUSH DIAMOND HEIST Adventure?
Experience life as a member of the infamous Crimson-Rose gang! Sneak into the Gold Rush Saloon at night to find the famous Yukon Polaris Diamond. Find the hidden diamond and get out without getting caught!
GOLD RUSH DIAMOND HEIST is a combination escape room and Klondike era adventure.
Participants (ahem — adventurers!) are placed inside our themed adventure room and must seek out clues, decipher mysteries, and solve puzzles to find the massive diamond before time runs out and the NWMP put an end to the shenanigans.
It’s a combination escape room and high-adrenaline adventure!
I’ve Never Played An “Escape” (Puzzle) Game Adventure. Will I Have Fun Doing This?
GOLD RUSH DIAMOND HEIST has been designed to provide the perfect challenge for most people. Whether you are an experienced escaper, or a novice, the clues will give you a perfect adventure.
If you are new to escape adventure puzzles, we recommend a larger group of people. Four people have more brainpower than two people!
How Many People Do We Need for Our Team?
The recommended number of players is two to four (2 – 4). This means that an average group of four people should have enough collective brain power, street smarts, and common sense, to finish the adventure within the allotted time. It is possible to play with as few as one (1) player, although a single player may find themselves much more challenged than would a larger group.
The maximum number of players, four (4), is due to the limitation of the space within the adventure. These minimum, recommended, and maximum number of players are determined by the room size, the puzzles, and the nature of the adventure.
Don’t worry if your group is larger than four! It is fun to split up into smaller groups and see which group has the shortest time to solve the puzzles & challenges.
How Long Is the Experience? How Many Minutes?
GOLD RUSH DIAMOND HEIST is a fifteen (15) minute MAXIMUM adventure experience. If you don’t have the YUKON-POLARIS DIAMOND in that time, you get caught red-handed by the NWMP.
What If We Get Stuck?
Don’t worry if you and your team get stuck. Hints will keep the adventure moving, if necessary.
Of course, you can challenge your team to go without hints, to increase your bragging rights!
Are These Adventures Private? Will Strangers Be Added To My Group?
Your game will absolutely be private. When you make a reservation, you are reserving the adventure for your group exclusively.
Is There An Age Restriction To Participate?
GOLD RUSH DIAMOND HEIST is designed to be appropriate for all ages, and can be the perfect family event!
Younger children will need help from Mom and/or Dad to get the diamond and avoid the NWMP.
Any adventure participant age 14 or under must be accompanied by at least one adult, age 18 years or older.
No more than three children/minors per adult are permitted.
Is This A Good/Safe/Fun/Appropriate Children’s Activity?
GOLD RUSH DIAMOND HEIST is designed to be appropriate for all ages. Please note that GOLD RUSH DIAMOND HEIST is set in a simulated Klondike era saloon, after dark. There are NO “adult” situations and NO “horror” aspects in these adventures.
The goal of the GOLD RUSH DIAMOND HEIST adventure is to figure out where the massive YUKON-POLARIS DIAMOND is hidden within the saloon and take it before getting caught red-handed by the North-West Mounted Police. One portion of the adventure involves shooting a perfectly safe old west style prop pistol.
Note: Any group with one or more participant(s) age 14 or under must also include at least one adult, age 18 years or older.

Next you will see a schedule of available times today, and can even book up to thirty (30) days in advance.
If you have any questions about, or problems with, the booking/reservation process, please phone us using the number listed on the contact page.
How Can I Modify Or Cancel An Existing Reservation?

Do You Have A “Free on Your Birthday” Promotion? How Does It Work?
YES! Escape Enigma offers free GOLD RUSH DIAMOND HEIST game play on your birthday (or ± 3 days from your birthday). For instance, if your birthday is on Wednesday the 15th of June, visit us any day between Sunday June 12th to Saturday June 18th and play for free!
Note: other people in your group pay the regular price. Hey, it isn’t their birthday! 😉
How: Book your appointment as usual on the reservation booking page, but book for one person fewer than your full group size. Example: If your group of four (4) has one person celebrating their birthday this week, simply reserve the room and pay for a group of three (3) people.
We will check ID for proof of birthdate upon arrival to permit the birthday celebrant into the adventure cube for free.
Important! You must show a government issued ID showing your birthdate. We know you wouldn’t take advantage of us, but since these adventures make you a member of the infamous Crimson-Rose gang, we can’t be too careful.
Do We Pay in Advance? Or When We Show Up For Our Booking?
When booking online we require payment in advance to secure your booking. The minimum party size which much be pre-paid to secure a booking is one (1).
If you need to add participants to your group after you have booked, they can be added and paid for when they arrive (10 minutes early, please!) for your booking.
To save time upon arrival, we strongly suggest you pay for your entire group when you make your online booking. This will speed things up when you show up for your booking.
Are You Saving My Credit Card Details For Future Purchases?
No!
However, our booking/payment processing provider (Square) does give you an option, during checkout, to “save this card on file for future purchases“.
We do NOT require you to tick this box. It is not necessary to tick this box to complete your booking.
Unfortunately, we cannot remove this unnecessary option from the checkout form.
When a card has been “saved for future purchases” we can only see the last four digits of the card number.
We periodically review customer profiles and remove any credit card info that has been stored as a result of ticking this box during booking payment.
I Don’t Want to Pay for My Entire Group. Can Other People In My Group Pay For Themselves??
We understand that paying for other people in a large group can be difficult for the person making the reservation.
The minimum party size for a reservation is one (1). You can book your appointment and pay for only one (1) person to secure your appointment. The rest of your party can pay for themselves upon arrival.
Important: please make sure you arrive a few minutes early so everyone can complete their payments, sign the waiver, and we can start on time.
If possible, we strongly suggest you pay for your entire group when you make your online booking. This will speed things up when you show up for your booking.
Business Hours? When Are You Open?
We are located in the world-famous West Edmonton Mall, so our hours are the same as the mall’s hours. If the mall is open, we are open.
Normal mall open hours are:
- Monday – Saturday: 10am to 9pm
- Sunday: 11am to 6pm
Holidays may change mall hours.
Our reservation booking page always shows available time slots and is adjusted for holiday hours.
Are Walk-Ins (Or Walkens) Allowed?
Walk-in customers are allowed, however we do encourage advanced booking as we cannot guarantee we will have a time slot available without a reservation.
(Christopher Walken is always allowed, and can play for free, anytime he wants. Seriously, Mr. Walken, we’d love to host you. 😁)
Frequently Asked Questions…
…Before You Arrive
When Should We Arrive For Our Booking?
It is helpful to arrive a few minutes before your booking time, so that your group can be properly prepared for your escape adventure.
If you have not arrived within five (5) minutes after the start of your booked time we reserve the right to cancel your booking and keep your deposit.
The West Edmonton Mall is *HUGE*. It can take up to 15 minutes to walk from one side of the mall to the other. If you are driving, we suggest you park in the South-East corner of the facility, adjacent to the intersection of 170 Street and 87 Avenue, near Winners or TD Bank (Phase One – entrance 32 or 40) to avoid a long walk. If you are arriving by ETS bus, plan for at least 10 minutes to walk from the Transit Centre to our location inside the mall.
If you have a last-minute emergency (hey, life happens) please call us and we will do our best to accommodate.
What’s The Deal With The Waiver? Why Do I Have To Sign A Waiver?
All participants must sign our Waiver and Terms & Conditions document prior to the start of the adventure. This is one of the reasons why it is important to arrive a few minutes before your booking time. Minors (not yet 18 years of age) must have a responsible parent/guardian sign on their behalf.
This is a requirement from our insurance underwriters.
An electronic copy of this document is available for preview. You are welcome to read it prior to your arrival.
Some Of My Group Will Be Late for the Booking. What Happens with Late Arrivals?
If a member(s) of your group will be late, we must start the rest of the group on time!
The late arriving member will be added into the escape adventure when they arrive, assuming the rest of the group still has some time remaining in their adventure.
If your entire group is late, you risk losing your booking. There are no refunds for late/no-shows.
Please don’t be late! If you are experiencing a timeliness problem and expect you will be late, please call us and we will try to accommodate — no guarantees, though.
